I walked every step of the path.
Now I map it for you.

I am GM Egor Lashkin — a competitive Grandmaster, chess coach, and the creator of The Lashkin Method. I built this system because I know exactly what it takes to go from beginner to Grandmaster, and I know where most players get stuck.

GM

Grandmaster

From first move
to Grandmaster

I learned chess at age eight. Like most players, I started by memorizing openings, solving tactics puzzles, and watching grandmaster games — hoping that enough exposure would eventually translate into results. For years, it did not.

The turning point came when I stopped trying to consume more information and started asking a different question: "Why did I make that move?" Not what the engine said, but what I was actually thinking — and where that thinking broke down.

That shift in approach — from passive consumption to active reflection — is what accelerated my development from club player to International Master to Grandmaster. It is also the foundation of everything I teach.

Having gone through every level on the path to the GM title, I understand the specific obstacles at each stage. The openings player who cannot convert advantages. The tactician who misses long-term plans. The positional player who freezes in complications. I have been each of those players, and I know how to move past each of those ceilings.

The Lashkin Method is not a shortcut. It is a structured system for developing the thinking process that separates improving players from stagnating ones. If you are willing to do the work, I will show you exactly how to do it.

The principles behind the method

Thinking over memorization

Opening theory fades. Tactical patterns blur. But a trained thinking process stays with you for life. Every lesson I teach is built around developing that process.

🔍

Reflection as the engine

The players who improve fastest are not the ones who study the most — they are the ones who analyze their own games most honestly. I teach you how to do that.

📐

Structure before intuition

Intuition is pattern recognition in disguise. Before you can trust your instincts, you need to build the vocabulary. Structure comes first; fluency follows.
